Funded Grant Brings Big6™ Workshop to Oklahoma School
We heard about an online sample of a funded grant from a school in Oklahoma. We thought some of you might be interested to know more about it.

The Western Heights school applied for the “Literacy Through School Libraries” grant funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Bob Berkowitz presented the BIG6 to the Western Heights faculty last November after they received their literacy grant funds.
The closing date for new grant applications is April 28, 2003.
This is a competitive grant. $12.4 million available this year.
To qualify for the Literacy Through School Libraries grant, your school district must have a 20% poverty level or higher. There is a list by state and school district on the grant website to see if your school district is within that category.
